Water is the source of life, and water quality safety is crucial for countless households and industrial production. Within the entire water treatment system, solenoid valves, despite their compact size, serve as the core components for controlling water quality and achieving automated operation, aptly described as the "invisible guardians" safeguarding water quality safety. Whether it's purification treatment in municipal waterworks, secondary water supply in residential areas, industrial wastewater treatment, or pure water preparation, solenoid valves are indispensable for precise water control, dosing, backwashing, and other operations. Their stability directly determines the operational efficiency of water treatment equipment and the quality of the effluent water.

In the purification process of municipal tap water, solenoid valves are primarily responsible for chemical dosing and water flow regulation. Tap water purification requires the addition of coagulants, disinfectants, pH regulators, and other chemicals. Traditional manual dosing methods result in uneven dosing and low efficiency. Household reverse osmosis water purifiers, pre-filters, and central water purifiers all incorporate built-in micro water solenoid valves, responsible for controlling raw water intake, pure water output, wastewater discharge, and filter cartridge backwash. For instance, the automatic flushing function of a water purifier, when the filter cartridge becomes clogged, the solenoid valve switches the water path to perform a reverse flush on the filter cartridge, thereby extending its service life. Some smart water purifiers can also remotely control the opening and closing of the solenoid valve via a mobile phone, enabling scheduled water supply, automatic water shutoff in case of leaks, and eliminating potential leakage hazards. Commercial direct drinking machines, coffee machines, and water boilers also utilize solenoid valves to precisely control water output, facilitating one-button water dispensing and quantitative water output, thereby enhancing user convenience.

In the field of industrial wastewater and sewage treatment, the role of solenoid valves is even more crucial. Industrial wastewater is complex in composition, containing impurities such as acids and alkalis, oil contaminants, and heavy metals. The treatment process includes multiple steps such as water intake, regulation, biochemical treatment, sedimentation, and disinfection, each requiring precise control of fluid flow. Operations in sewage treatment plants, such as air intake into aeration tanks, sludge dewatering feeding, reclaimed water reuse pipeline switching, and standard-compliant drainage, all utilize corrosion-resistant, high-flow solenoid valves that are suitable for the harsh medium environment of sewage. Especially in the sludge treatment process, solenoid valves are used in conjunction with filter presses to achieve automatic feeding and unloading, enhancing the efficiency of sludge dewatering. During emergency handling, emergency shut-off solenoid valves can quickly block sewage flow to prevent environmental pollution caused by sewage leakage.

In addition, solenoid valves also play a significant role in scenarios such as pool circulating water, landscape water treatment, and agricultural irrigation. In the pool water circulation system, solenoid valves control the dosing of disinfectants and water circulation, ensuring water quality meets standards. In the intelligent agricultural irrigation system, solenoid valves automatically open or close the irrigation water circuit based on soil moisture and meteorological data, achieving precise and water-saving irrigation.

The water treatment scenario has special requirements for solenoid valves: firstly, the material must be corrosion-resistant, as sewage and water containing chemicals are prone to corrode the valve body. It is preferable to use 304/316 stainless steel or engineering plastic valve bodies, with fluororubber seals; secondly, the sealing performance must be strong, with no leakage or seepage; thirdly, it should have fast response speed and high reliability, suitable for long-term continuous operation. During operation and maintenance, it is necessary to regularly clean the valve core of impurities to prevent scale and sediment from blocking the valve, regularly check the wear of seals, and replace parts in a timely manner to ensure stable operation of the solenoid valve and guard every checkpoint of the water treatment system.
